What’s it all about?
SPINSTERS BY EILEEN WALSH (1940)
A Dark Daughter Production, directed by Maura Logue
Life on a stony farmland is harsh and when land and money are scarce hardships can follow. Nicholas & Jacko, two bachelor boys living on such a farm, struggle day by day. Imagine their delight when they are told they are the sole recipients of their late aunt Jinny’s will.
The smiles are soon wiped off their faces when the solicitor Mr Larrigan reads out the stipulations of Aunt Jinny’s will.
How will Nicholas & Jacko deal with the news ? Is there hope that the money may eventually be theirs? Will they have to give up their precious bachelor status, or will the money go to build a rest home for “Spinsters” instead?
All will be revealed in this 20 minute Irish hilarious comedy “SPINSTERS” by Eileen Walsh (1940)
