Who are TurfnSurf?

TurfnSurf is a family run hostel and activity provider based in Bundoran on Ireland's north-west surf coast. We are one of the largest activity providers in the north-west offering accommodation, surfing, sea-kayaking and Blo-karting. The business was established in August 2006 by husband and wife Killian and Mary O'Kelly.

Adventure activity tours direct from Dublin City Centre to Bundoran, TurfnSurf Lodge, Surfing, Sea-kayaking, Blo-karting, cheap budget affordable tours, special deals, north-west coast Ireland, mini-tour culture and heritageKillian is from Bundoran and has spent most of his childhood exploring the sea and land of the surrounding area. He is an avid water sports man. He has surfed from the age of 16 years old, sea kayaked all around Donegal Bay and more recently taken up the sport of Blo-karting. Killian has been a lifeguard in Bundoran for a number of years and is currently a volunteer member of the local RNLI Lifeboat.

Mary is originally from the east coast but moved to Bundoran after returning from travelling with Killian. She enjoys sea kayaking and hill walking in the local area. She also “tries” to run and can give you some advice on good running circuits in the area.

We really enjoy getting out and about in the north-west and our aim is to help show you the wonderful countryside and the great fun you can have right on your door step. We are able to do this with the great help and support from our team of instructors and support staff who all live locally and can show you the secrets of the Bundoran and county Donegal area.

Killian and Mary originally thought up the idea of TurfnSurf Lodge while trundling around South Africa in a little white car called Chico. However, South Africa was only the start of an 18 month trip through Australia, living in New Zealand for a year and then paying a visit to South America for three months before returning home to the Emerald Isle.
We kept the idea with us all the way through and so in August 2006 we moved into Bayview Terrace and started a labour of love; turning the building and business into what you experience today.
